David was born in South Florida and raised in Central Florida, and the people who come to his office are the same individuals and families he has lived among his entire life. David began practicing law in Florida in 1990 and has spent his entire career focused on the areas that most deeply affect individuals and families. After several years building his experience in family and probate matters, he founded Veliz Katz Law in 1994 with the goal of creating a firm rooted in preparation, accountability, and clear communication.

Over the past 33+ years, David has handled thousands of cases throughout Central Florida, appearing before local judges, working with court-appointed professionals, and managing a wide range of contested and uncontested matters. 

As Founder & Owner, David oversees a team of attorneys, paralegals, and support staff who share his commitment to thorough casework and consistent client communication. His leadership ensures that every case is approached with the same level of attention and professionalism the firm was built on.
